Juggernaut Log: Hawaii Edition 43
Wala'au (va la OW): Diarrhea of the mouth. Talkative.
WEDNESDAY. Woke up at 7 am to start our hike. Today was "Mahu" weather, meaning it was undecided and it would rain on and off. I finally got to take a picture of "stairway to heaven". Its a stairway trail with ropes that takes you to the top of the mountain and sets you above the clouds.

Our first hike was at Wa'ahila ridge trail, the home of the sleeping giant. I went on the hike with my cousin and marvin. Before the hike, was a pair of brushes on the floor to clean our shoes. We used it when we started and when we finished the trail. The trail reminded me of a chase scene from a scary movie, like in friday the 13th. It so happens there was also a guy with a chainsaw at the bottom of the trail.

On the trail, it rained and rivers of waters came down the middle, so we maneuvered passed it while holding on to trees. We had to get out of the rain under this brush like in the movie "With out a paddle". Haha. On our way up we passed strawberry guavas. Yes, strawberry guavas. First time that I've ever heard the name. Supposedly they were brought here from another country and planted.

When we got to this certain spot with tall grass it reminded me of the velociraptor scene in the movie Jurassic Park. The scene where all the velociraptors ambush the dudes in the tall grass.

We then took the trail down to another path, which was way slippier, slipped and slid a couple of times. Wet, just how I like it. I felt like I was in China and I was waiting for a Panda to pop out of nowhere.

After that hike, we had to stop at this sign below. Kinda fucked up that you gotta call out people for their disabilities. Haha.

We were off to our 2nd hike at Paradise Park in Manoa. Manoa is known as the valley of the Rainbows and in that valley lived the Rainbow Goddess. That's why the University of Hawaii were the "Rainbows" then later changed their names to the "Warriors". The trail we went up had wild boars and on days the officials there would hunt them down with their hunting dogs.

The trail was also known for the night marcher's death march. Along the river, way back, they would carry dead royalty up streams to bury them in white sands or caves. The marchers would kill any commoner in their way. At night, you may be able to hear marching of the dead night marchers.

I love Hawaii. Haha. Oh yeah, at the end of the trail theres a waterfall. Yup.

We also passed by the University of Hawaii. You can say majority of the campus is haunted. Many stories to tell, but one example would be at the Hamilton Library. 2nd floor & government documents had the most ghost sitings. Just to let you know if you ever plan to attend the University of Hawaii.
On our way to lunch we say Chris Leben, a UFC fighter, jogging by the campus. We ate at the Kiawe Grille in Molili. Bomb ass Korean BBQ food. Local spot. I ordered grilled pulehu porkchops and it came with 14oz of sides that I got to pick out. Sea weed, kimchi, macaroni salad. Stuff like that.

We also passed by Punahou High School, where President Barack Obama attended for high school. One of the oldest schools in Hawaii.

After, we headed to Tantalus in Makiki, a place basically known for couples to have picnics, to smooch & most likely to have sex. Haha. When we got to the look out point, I think we just witnessed a couple finishing up their quickie. Haha. We then went to Punch Bowl to see the grave site where all the military heroes get buried at. They had American flags and Japanese flags all over. Supposedly Prince Akihito was to be there to visit the grave yard. FYI, his father was the one who initiated the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

On the way back home, we stopped at a 7-11 to pick up a slurpee. I had to get that kimchi taste out of my mouth. Picked up a musubi and headed next door to Tanioka where Marvin bought a pound of Ahi. In the glass case we saw an autograph picture of Nicole Scherzinger. We headed next door to the tattoo shop where my cousin knows the manager there. A tattoo from Hawaii sounds tempting. Hmmmm. Maybe. We'll see.

Across the street was a murder scene from the Zodiac killer or a copy cat of him. In the early 80's they would find body parts in the dumpsters and in the rec center. The killer would kill mostly prostitutes and chop them up and throw them somewhere. My cousin still remembers the day they found body parts in the river. She was young and had hula class that day. People would surround the river and cops were running around that day picking up body parts.
P.S. We had Chocolate Haupia cream pie. You can say that's probably my first cream pie. Haha. Just sayin.
